ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Katie
I’m a self-taught woodworker, DIYer, and the creator behind this site. What started as a way to document the furniture I was building and the projects we were tackling around our home has grown into a space where I can share what I’ve learned, encourage others, and hopefully make DIY feel a little more approachable.
My husband and I purchased our home more than 15 years ago with the intention of it being our forever home. From the beginning, we knew it would take time, hard work, and a whole lot of patience to turn it into exactly what we wanted. Over the years, we’ve learned that creating a home you love is truly a marathon, not a sprint. There’s always something to update, build, improve, or dream up next — and honestly, that’s part of what we love about it.
Like a lot of people, we’re balancing home projects with busy schedules, multiple businesses, and all of the everyday demands of life. That means progress doesn’t always happen quickly, and not every project is perfect. But this site was built on the idea that meaningful progress matters more than perfection, and that with a little creativity, determination, and a willingness to learn, you can accomplish more than you might think.
Here, you’ll find the projects I’ve built, the updates we’ve made to our home, and the tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way. My goal is to share ideas, practical advice, and real-life encouragement that inspires you to step outside your comfort zone and take on projects in your own home — whether you’re picking up a power tool for the first time or tackling a renovation you’ve been putting off for years.
I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope this space leaves you feeling inspired, capable, and excited to create something of your own.
Katie
