I’ve been making lots of progress in the den and checking some things off of my “to do” list. Today I’m sharing how I replaced the ugly eyesore of a desktop where my boys do their homework with a gorgeous wooden desktop! But before we get to that, I have a HUGE announcement!!! I’m now a contributor over at Pretty Handy Girl! I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am about this incredible opportunity! Brittany is an amazingly talented DIY blogger who shares loads of gorgeous and inspiring tutorials with her readers through step by step tutorials that make it easy for anyone to follow. I love that she and I both have the same goal in mind–empower others to tackle their own DIY projects.
Head over to Pretty Handy Girl to check out my tutorial for how I transformed this desktop (for only about $40) and while you’re there, be sure to check out the other amazing projects she and my fellow contributors have shared!
I’ll be sharing more progress in the den soon, so stay tuned! I can’t wait for the big reveal!

Wow is all I can say, I love the it. The different cuts look hard to do, were they pretty easy?

The hardest part was figuring out the angle of the cuts. Once I realized how to get that angle, it was easy. The method I used in my tutorial should make it easy for anyone to replicate:)

Your desk looks fabulous! Nice work. I will be checking back to see your big den reveal. Your post has also given me a brilliant idea for a tv console I want to build. 😉

I’ve found your project on Brittany’s blog and I cannot say how exited I am to see the end result. The new tabletop is very rustic and unique.
